Sitka Adventure

I thought that since our blog has Alaska in the title, I should post some of the Alaska adventures that we have had this past year. (And this might mollify some of the complainers about my blogging skills..). I thought I'd put up a trip that the boys and I took to Sitka, Alaska with two other moms and their kids last August. Sitka is about 90 miles from Juneau as the eagle flies, but we had to take a 5 hour ferry ride on the fast ferry to get there.
Here is our group of three moms and 9 kids as we attempted to go for a bike ride. And this is Clayton after he fell off the trail and into a bunch of bushes...we didn't go very far.

Instead we decided to have lunch at a park. The boys all climbed on the whale tail to get away from the girls.

On another day we took the kids to the touch tank aquarium to see some of the local sea-life.Clay and a Sunstar

Yummm...sea cucumbers.

On another day we decided to go for a hike through totum park. All the kids in front of a Tlingit totem pole

Bradley, Reid and Clay next to a totem in progress.

Clayton wants to grow up to be this big!

The boys found these teeth at a tourist shop downtown one afternoon.

We had pretty good weather for most of our week long trip, but one day we took the kids to the local indoor pool and wore the kids out.

This is Allie and she attached herself to Clay for most of the trip. Clay was very sweet about it and he let her tag along most of the time.
We had rented a condo for the week and went out everyday for a different adventure. The boys still ask about when we can go back to Sitka.
